In the book, Debra reveals how her incestuous relationship with her father eventually became consensual. My Daddy, the Devil and Me gives a chilling account of Debra’s molestation, physical abused and drug addiction at the hands of her father. Readers will get a detailed account of how Debra’s secret 21-year sexual relationship led her into a life of crime, prostitution, drug addiction and imprisonment.
In breaking her silence, Debra is hoping to shed light on the subject of consensual incest, encourage others to escape and equip individuals with the tools necessary to avoid incestuous situations. She wants to be the voice of others who couldn’t speak, like Baby Brianna Lopez of Mexico City, who was raped and beaten to death by her father, mother and uncle.
“What makes my story different from other incest survivors is not only was I deeply in love with my father and had high dreams of marrying him one day, but I also believe that I was being led by the Devil himself, and would drop my children, my jobs, my boyfriends, and my life to go wherever he was,” said Debra.
